Cinderella is one of my favorite fairy tales because it has so many elements of a good story, ultimately the girl gets the prince and they live happily ever after but before all of that she is thrown into a world of peasant work she never wanted and hardly complains about, she gives us hope that she will prevail. No matter how hard her sisters and her mother/stepmother try to bat her down she always remains confident that she will be able to go to the ball despite the outrageous tasks her mother/stepmother asks her to do. Who cares if she gets birds to help her finish the tasks, she earned the right to go the ball and she should go. Now in the story she may not have a fairy stepmother or a pumpkin carriage but those elements and essential in every Disney recreation. Cinderella will always remain a great and important fairy tale.
